The Australian Suicide Prevention Foundation (ASPF) is a privately funded organisation and registered charity. While not a crisis support service, it manages several websites with information for people considering suicide or affected by the suicide of a loved one. Alarmingly, suicide rates in Australia have reached a 10-year high. Pesel & Carr (P&C) developed the “You are not alone” competition targeting young people. The competition ran from July to October 2018. It encouraged them to create short videos on what the theme meant to them, giving them a voice on the issue and creating a platform to share positive messages.
