While International Women’s Day, celebrated on March 8, has recognition around the world and an established reputation for raising awareness around women’s issues, it has a very limited profile in Japan. Many corporations are involved in individual efforts to address women’s working conditions within their organizations, but there is a lack of concentrated, multi-faceted activities that involve both private and public sectors. As a company founded and led by a female CEO with more than half of the team members made up of women, SUNNY SIDE UP (SSU) took it upon ourselves to remedy the situation.
