We launched a project to develop an online sign language dictionary to help individuals with hearing disabilities learn sign language. The project aimed to address the challenges of teacher shortages, lack of standardized sign language, and limited access to resources for learning sign language. Jestdili.az is a free-of-charge platform enabling anyone to study sign language and thus eliminating the need for individual instructors. The program was developed with input from the deaf community and specialists in the field, resulting in a standardized sign language for Azerbaijan. The vocabulary includes 5000 words translated into images and 500 words translated into videos.
