IPRA is delighted to announce that the new President of the IPRA Philippines Chapter is Maria Lourdes Espina. Malou, as she likes to be called, is vice president for marketing and communications for Total (Philippines) Corporation, an affiliate of the TotalEnergies group. Malou was previously director of public affairs at the Asian Institute of Management and is a former assistant vice president at STI Education Services Group.
As part of its ethos to integrate the global and the local, IPRA encourages the formation of geographic chapters. These may span a country or, more typically, a region. They are formed by the paid-up members of IPRA in that region and inspire local events and publications. The Philippines Chapter is one of our most active and has been since it started back in the early 1990s. Noted projects include the book How to Make It in PR and the ongoing weekly column PR Matters, in the local newspaper the Business Mirror. These articles frequently appear on the Google Alerts service.
IPRA also expresses its gratitude to the outgoing president Jingjing Villanueva-Romero. She has led the IPRA Philippines Chapter with great panache over the last four years and has helped it go from strength to strength.
