Weaving AI into the fabric of lobbying

(Comments)

Collaboration between government relations and public affairs professionals has the potential to promote the responsible and ethical use of AI. This was one conclusion of the 8th Annual Government Relations Forum.

The Forum, organized by the International Governmental Affairs Professionals Association (IGAPA), was held on 15 March and hosted at Bay Atlantic University, Washington DC. It brings together experts in lobbying, advocacy and government relations.

IPRA Board Member Svetlana Stavreva contributed to a panel on weaving AI into the fabric of lobbying. The discussion shed light on how AI is reshaping regulatory frameworks, content generation and the very nature of lobbying. The panel emphasized the critical need for the ethical use of AI, citing IPRA's new guidelines for AI and PR as an essential tool to navigate the complexities ahead.

Svetlana Stavreva stressed the importance of collaboration between government relations and public affairs professionals: "As AI rapidly becomes part of our daily lives, the importance of us working together is clear. Such collaboration has the potential to promote the responsible and ethical use of AI, which in turn will enhance advocacy while protecting trust."

The Forum serves as a platform for discussions on the latest trends and challenges in lobbying and advocacy, shedding light on the dynamic field of government relations and public advocacy.
