IPRA joins global taskforce for covid-19 communications

(Comments)

IPRA has joined a coalition of global PR groups launching a free consultation service to help communications leaders manage their organisations and agencies through the covid-19 crisis. The new service connects experienced advisors from around the world with those seeking support.

In order to both support the recruitment of the advisors, and maximise the reach to those seeking advice, the service’s co-ordinator the UK-based Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA) is partnering with the European Association of Communication Directors (EACD), the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), the International Communications Consultancy Organisation (ICCO), as well as  IPRA.

Taskforce advisors will provide impartial and practical advice during 30-minute confidential consultations. Those seeking support do so by completing a form on the PRCA website.

Covid-19 communications taskforce chair, Tony Langham said: “Communications leaders, both in-house and in consultancies, are going to be faced with some of the most difficult decisions of their lives in the next few weeks. We all make better decisions when we talk things through with someone from outside our day to day world.”

IPRA President Svetlana Stavreva comments: “By joining this global initiative IPRA is helping our members to rise to the challenge we face from covid-19. IPRA’s members will help to add value to colleagues in need.” IPRA Secretary General Philip Sheppard adds: “IPRA is proud to support this excellent initiative and will indeed rally its network of global experts. Those wishing to volunteer should contact me here.
