You are invited to the awards ceremony and Gala dinner for the IPRA Golden World Awards for Excellence in PR 2025 in Ghana.
The IPRA Golden World Awards for Excellence awards ceremony and Gala dinner will take place at 19.15 on Friday 3 October 2025 in Accra, Ghana. The Gala will be at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel. The Gala is open to all GWA winners past and present, IPRA members and friends. The event will also celebrate IPRA’s 70th anniversary and the inauguration of our President 2026. So, it will be quite a party!
Tickets for the uplifting event will be available online priced at £250 each or a table of 10 at £2250.

Official Hotel of the IPRA Golden World Awards for Excellence 2025

Official airline of the Gala

Emirates Airline has been appointed the Official Airline of the IPRA Golden World Awards Gala 2025. They are offering in Business and Economy Class a 7% discount on Flex and Flex Plus, and a 5% discount on Saver. We will let you know when booking with the IPRA code opens
Flights and transport
Kotoka International Airport airport has good international connections including Emirates, British Airways, Brussels, Air France, KLM, Delta, United, Qatar, and Turkish. There are taxis available, or the hotel can arrange a pick-up.
Visas
Except for some African countries a visa is required. IPRA has arranged a visa on arrival service. This uses a third party and is more expensive than arranging your own visa via your local Ghanian Embassy. But it is more convenient. IPRA collects your travel information and gives you an “OK to board” confirmation. A dedicated welcome team will be on hand at the airport to receive and assist you through arrival formalities Contact the Secretariat for full details.
Currency
The local currency is the Ghanian Cedi which comes in denominations of GHC 200, 100, 50, 20, 10, 5, 2 and 1. The rate is around 16 GHC to 1€ or 1$.
Weather
The climate in Accra at this time of year is perfect with daytime temperatures around 28°C and water temperature about the same.
Health and Vaccinations
Although more a rural risk, a Yellow Fever certificate is required. Once vaccinated for Yellow Fever the certificate becomes valid on the 10th day and lasts for life. So if you have an old certificate this is fine. Anti-malarial tablets are recommended. More health information is here.
Dress Code
The Dress Code for the GWA Gala Dinner is smart formal or national dress. Please be glamorous but evening dress is not required!


Ghana is famous for its Kente textile made of hand-woven strips of silk and cotton. Make sure you leave room in your suitcase to take some home.
